Day two was a less eventful day, but that’s because I went to work. Le sigh. That’s okay! I managed to make some good progress on Bout of Books. It’s time for my daily update!
January 3rd – Day 2 Review
Books Read: Jazz Day: The Making of a Famous Photograph by Roxane Orgill, illustrated by Francis Vallejo, Mom & Me & Mom by Maya Angelou, Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor
Completed Book: Jazz Day: The Making of a Famous Photograph by Roxane Orgill, illustrated by Francis Vallejo
Goal Updates (2/10):
- I will read for at least 60 minutes each day, including at least 4 straight hours on at least one day.
- 4 hours straight were accomplished on Day 1! Thanks, bank holidays!
- I will finish a book which I am currently reading.
- Gilded Cage was not intended for this goal, but I did start it before the readathon and finish it on day 1! I’m still hoping that I can get through a book for work… This is looking like a Weekend activity.
- I will read one book from start to finish.
- Akata Witch will be it! I just… need to read more.
- I will participate actively on Twitter and on my blog.
- Day one and two. CHECK! I haven’t been this regularly active on Twitter ever. I am pretty hot and cold with it.
Bout of Books Daily Challenge: 2017 in a Picture: Share your goals/plans/etc. for 2017 with your fellow #boutofbooks-ers. These could be book goals, life goals, or goals for ANYTHING you’re looking to tackle in 2017. Take a picture of the books you plan on reading this year! Share a vision board of what you’re trying to accomplish! Use the hashtags #BoB2017Goals and #boutofbooks and let us cheer you on!
My Tweets were adequate, I will admit. But, I covered everything in my other blog post yesterday. I am really excited for my 2017 goals, and I can’t wait to make progress on them. I did point out that my “bookshelf” for this readathon is my Kindle. I am trying to make a dent in my electronic TBR. It’s so easy to read my physical books because they are more present.
Upcoming Day 3 Goals
Currently Reading: Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor, Mom & Me & Mom by Maya Angelou
Bout of Books Daily Challenge: Book to Movie Have a book you think would make an excellent movie? Now’s your chance to share it! Go as big or as simple as you want. Share fanart, casting choices, or just a book or series you think would be OUTSTANDING on the big screen. Use the hashtags #BoBBookToMovie and #boutofbooks to share your picks!
I cannot WAIT to share my thoughts on this….

I’m a big Kindle reader. In fact I find it hard to read regular books now. Mostly because of convenience. I do a lot of reading in bed with the lights off so I don’t disturb anyone else.
Yes! I do that too. That’s how I became a huge Kindle reader. I used to only read physical books, but when David moved in, I felt bad staying up late reading. My life was changed forever. 😉
Some serious reader! I am stoked to see you managed to already complete your 4 hour session.. and jealous haha. Also thrilled to see that your blog is playing nice again <3 😛
I am thrilled to see it is playing nicely, too! That’s completely my bad. O_o
It was so nice to schedule a chunk of time on my day off to just sit and read. Thank goodness New Years was on a Sunday, so I got Monday off. 🙂 I hope to get a chunk of time Saturday and Sunday to read as well. It probably won’t be 4 straight hours, but I’m hoping for two. Must read more!
