About Death by Tsundoku
Tsundoku (n.) [tsUn-dO-kU]: the act of leaving a book unread after buying it, typically piled up together with such other unread books on shelves, floors, or nightstands.
Books are an addiction. Not just the written word, but physical books. Heck, electronic books, too!
After years of piling up books, Jackie B. realized it’s just hard to figure out the right book to read. After participating in book clubs, forums, chat groups, and more she realized that sometimes you just want someone else to do the heavy lifting for you.
Death by Tsundoku will help you identify the next book you should pick up and read. No longer do you need to dig through your pile and make impulse decisions based on covers. Now you can parse through a collection of well-written reviews to find the perfect next book to read.
Death by Tsundoku Goals:
- Inspire you to make the most of your reading time
- Encourage you to make a dent in your To Be Read (TBR) List
- Engage in discussion on books, reading, and life as a reader
- Help you identify the next book you want to read
Biography of a Blogger
Passionate bibliophile, Jackie B. is an extroverted interpersonal learner who can’t stop talking about books. Unable to find enough outlets for her literary passion, she turned to blogging. By day, Jackie B. works as a corporate adult educator, continuous improvement consultant, and community musician. By night, she can be found with her “blanket and juice” [i.e. heated blanket and a bottle of wine] curled up in some corner of the house with a good book… or eight.

“corporate adult educator and community musician” – Are you a teacher? and what instrument do you play? I like your profile and I can’t never pronounce your blog name haha.. Thanks for the definition. I do have that same problem 🙂
I *used* to be a public school instrumental music teacher. However, I now teach adult learners in a corporate environment. It was quite a journey to get where I am today, and while I miss working with kids, I don’t miss public school. I still perform, though! I love it. I am a percussionist by trade. I particularly love to play in wind bands and orchestras; my favorite instruments are the tambourine, marimba, and hand percussion (such as bongos).
The word Tsundoku really does apply to my life. So many books, so little time. I have quite a number of books which have been sitting on my shelves collecting dust. I find myself always said, “I’ll get to that book next…” and I never do. Oops!
Wow.. 🙂
A teacher for kids & adults! That’s great. A bit of a career change but you still love it right?
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I know I will enjoy following yours!
Thanks Dolly! Some of your recipes look amazing. I can’t wait to try them!
